Acne is caused by excess production of oil by your skin triggered by emotional stress, improper clothing, hormones, and chemical irritants. The following tips will help you to win the fight against teenage acne and have a wonderful, fun-filled life without the embarrassment that usually comes with acne.
Deal with stress
Hormonal changes are the first cause of teen acne whilst stress comes a close second. Now, you can't do much about your hormones. It is part of your natural growth and body development. But you can deal with stress. Try your best to take life as it comes and learn to have some fun. Get books and visit sites to learn how to deal with stress. If you have friends that pick on you, change them. Stay around people that support you.
Good body hygiene
Acne is not caused by dirt, but dirt can make it worse because bacteria can enter under your skin. Therefore a hygienic lifestyle will help you to reduce acne and prevent breakouts. Wash your face twice a day morning and evening with a mild cleanser. After washing, pat dry gently with a towel. You can also use an exfoliating scrub once a week. Shower after every sports activity or sweaty work. Wash off make up before going to bed. Keep your bed sheets and pillow cases clean.Don't pick or squeeze pimples. Squeezing pushes bacteria and oil into pores causing more swelling. That's how scars are formed. Keep your hair as short as you can or pack it away from your face.
